A friend of mine (Mr.C) built this Fazer and powered it with a Thunder Tiger 40GP.  I even got to test fly it for him.  The Fazer was Mr.C's first profile fun fly plane.  But although Mr.C never had any trouble flying the Fazer, he never felt comfortable flying it......so he sold it to Fast Eddy.  Fast Eddy replaced the TT 40GP with a brand new TT 42GP to get a little more power and reliability from the engine.  But just like Mr.C, Fast Eddy never felt comfortable flying the Fazer either.  So after flying the Fazer less than a dozen flights, he wanted to sell it.....cheap.

I had flown this Fazer many times when Mr.C owned it, and had also flown it several times when Fast Eddy owned it.  Mr.C had done a great job building and covering the Fazer.   I really liked the way my Stickit IV flew, and had been considering buying a profile fun fly plane.  So I made Fast Eddy an offer for the Fazer and the TT 42GP, and he took it.

When I bought the Fazer from Fast Eddy, it weighed 4 lbs., 8 ounces dry.  At this weight, the TT 42GP with the stock muffler was straining to hover the Fazer.  So I removed the tail wheel and replaced it with a simple wire skid.  The lighter tail section let me remove the heavy prop hub.  This shaved off several ounces of weight.   I also replaced the DuBro wheels with some very light weight foam wheels from an old ARF kit.  This shaved off several more ounces.  Then I replaced the 600ma battery with a 270ma battery, which shaved off a couple more ounces.  Now the Fazer with the TT 42GP weighed 4 lbs., 0 ounces and flew much better.  The TT 42GP even had enough spare thrust to climb out of hover, but just barely.

The next step was to replace the stock muffler with a Mousse Can Pipe (MCP).  This resulted in a significant power increase, with no increase in weight.  With an APC 10.5x4.5 prop, the Fazer can now easily pull out of a hover.

Overall, the Fazer is a pretty good flying airplane.  It can fly fast or slow.   The rolls are fast and accurate.  Inside  loops are fairly tight (especially with flapperons), and outside loops are even tighter.  The Fazer slow flys and hovers pretty good, and I've even managed to pull off several good torque rolls since installing the MCP.

I like my Fazer because it's a lot of fun to goof around with!   I'm glad I bought it!

( But to be honest, I still like my Stickit IV better.)
